Be part of something enduring. The Founding Fifty is a special group of the first 50 individuals in each of the cities we serve who have contributed to the River North Community Fund’s Endowment with a minimum gift of $100. These inaugural donors are helping lay the foundation for a strong, connected, and generous community - forming the roots from which River North’s legacy will grow. As a member of the Founding Fifty in Brisbane or the City of Moreton Bay, you’ll receive exclusive invitations to events, unique behind-the-scenes site visits, and recognition as a pioneer supporter shaping the future of our region.

"By supporting the vital work of community foundations who are empowering grassroots, community-led and place-based organisations, we can amplify impact and ensure we are facilitating local, tailored solutions. I'm not from the north, but I own a house in the Moreton Bay area - and I am invested in the local community and the support it offers to individuals and families in the area."

"Being part of an active community committed to improving the lives of people in the North is a genuinely uplifting experience. I feel humbled to join forces with like-minded people, pooling our resources and energy to support causes we truly care about. This model has so much potential, not just to raise capital, but more importantly to raise spirits and foster a sense of hope and connection that feels essential right now."

We have a unique opportunity to shape what place-based philanthropy can be in our region.

It doesn’t have to be transactional. It can be transformational.

"For 35 years, Moreton Bay has been my home and my heart. North Brisbane is a region of immense beauty, bold enterprise and extraordinary generosity, yet it is not immune to disasters, disadvantage and hidden poverty. I joined the Founding Fifty because I believe in the power of local people backing local communities. A strong community foundation will harness our region’s generosity and ensure that when challenges arise, we respond with unity and can have a lasting impact."

Some of our strongest champions don’t currently live within our catchment - but their connection to this region runs deep. They may have grown up here, spent school holidays exploring the Peninsula, shared family trips to Woodford for NYE, or carry lasting memories of the people and places that shaped them. This special circle of supporters recognises that while life may have taken them elsewhere, their commitment to the future of the North remains strong. They stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Founding Fifty as ambassadors for the cause - helping to grow a legacy that will benefit generations to come. Friends of the North are welcome to join with a minimum gift of $100

“I’m excited to support a new community foundation in my area. Community funds are a great way to back local projects and bring people together to make a difference. With the recent changes to the rules for tax-deductible giving, there’s now an even better chance for the River North Community Fund to support a stronger community in Brisbane's north."

"Having lived much of my life on the Northside, I'm grateful for the opportunities it's given me and I continue to find ways to give back. I'm not starry-eyed about the challenges faced in the North, from flood resilience to entrenched disadvantage, which is exactly why initiatives like River North matter."
